Umshanti is a small private resort, set on the Buffeljags Dam, just 12 km from Swellendam, offering peace and tranquillity, adventure and excitement.Accommodation is offered in five simple cottages, a romantic timber cottage known as ?The Chapel' that is ideal for honeymooners, and a ?Gypsy Cottage'. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, and bedding is provided. Each cottage has braai facilities and wood is available for sale at a reasonable fee.At Umshanti you can enjoy nature's wonderland with boat cruises, swimming, canoeing, hiking or mountain biking to stunning mountain pools, waterskiing, and more. Umshanti offers fun for everyone. Conference facilities are also available.

We had a wonderfull stay. Most beautiful sceens of nature. The children enjoyed the canoeing right up to the waterfall. Nice to have a freezer for your meat while camping. Bathrooms very clean and nice to have a hotshower. Will definately go back.

Amazing place and people by

I loved our little hide away from the world... The Chapel was a cute self contained hut, which we just loved to bits. stunning sunsets and the sunrise. Loved the kayaking, but he best thing is the people who run the place. Thank you Vicky & sister and Koossie for making this journey after 11 years from being away from SA so memorable. I can assure you it will not be that long again before i'm back. lotsa love Unchen and Walter xxxx
