Sonnekus is a modern ground-floor apartment situated in Hartenbos, sleeping four adults and two small children comfortably.

The apartment consists of two bedrooms with built-in cupboards, a full private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and an open-plan living area with a TV and a sleeper couch. Bring your own decoder and smart card for DStv access. All bed linen is provided, but bring your own bath- and beach towels.

There is an indoor braai area with glass doors leading onto the grass, great for entertainment. The apartment is close to the beach, shops and restaurants.

We recently stayed at Sonnekus in Hartenbos. I would like to give it 1 star.
 
Let me start by saying the unit was unbelievablyclean when we arrived. Kudu's to Elna and her cleaning team. It wasspotless. We were however very disappointed with our choice ofaccommodation. The complex Hartensee in which the unit issituated is very run down. The entrance to the complex looks like theentrance of a derelict plot and it is right next to the railway tracks.
 
The unit is well equipped but the ceiling is verylow which makes it a bit claustrophobic. The bathroom layout is veryuncomfortable with little space. The only way for an adult male to usethe toilet is to sit with one leg in the shower.
 
There was also construction work happening in thecomplex with constant noise and the water being off for most of a day.With the construction workers around we did not feel comfortable withthe kids running around in the complex.
 
We paid for 5 nights but could not bear it anymore after 3 nights and decided to rather leave, losing R1600. I wouldnot recommend this unit for a family holiday.
 




We stayed at Sonnekus in Hartenbos in December 2015 for 3 weeks. We really had a wonderful stay in this very well equipped and secure apartment. The open plan apartment has a spacious living area and bedrooms, which make it comfortable for a long stay. Although the bathroom is a bit tight, it has everything you need inside to enjoy your vacation. The rates are very affordable in comparison to other apartments, while you are only a 1km walk away from the beach and the main attractions in Hartenbos. You can also enjoy a swim in the swimming pool which is only a few steps away from the apartment. This year December we will return for another 3 week stay at Sonnekus!
