At Shapes of Africa, stay in unique rustic Zulu rondavels constructed from natural materials sourced from Mount Moreland and built by our own local Zulus, with beautiful views of Mount Moreland and Umdloti River valley and a distant sea view. The rondavels are set in a large, luscious indigenous garden.

Features include a lapa area where guests can entertain and a bar can be set up on request with facilities to cook, relax and enjoy. There is an outside thatched shower for two, and bar facilities and cooked meals can be arranged in advance. In addition, prepared meals can also be bought such as braai packs and cooked meals.

Excellent Hospitality by

We had a 2 nights stay over at Shapes of Africa. What an awesome experience. I would recommend this venue to anyone who enjoys being in nature. Be prepared for the geckos they form part of the experience. Ray and Wendy you were an excellent host and hostess and made our stay at Shapes of Africa so much more worthwhile. The accommodation is neat and caters for all of your needs and is an excellent accommodation for self catering or not. its close to Durban beach front as well. We were a group of 20 people and the experience was amazing.

Decidedly Different Rustic Gem by

A truly different experience from the normal "coastal/seaside" holiday. The hosts are phenomenal, attentive, and really take care of their guests - food is really, really good, enhanced by the surrounding bush and atmosphere. Real value for money!!!
