Savoy Hotel is one of Kimberley's oldest and most enchanting hotels. the hotel opened for the first time on 1 September 1897. It has lived through the diamond heydays, was re-built in 1901, and soon proved to be the best hotel in the city, as is still the case today.

In 1921 the Savoy Hotel was again upgraded, and as reported in the Diamond Fields Advertiser on Friday, 6 May 1921, So vast are the improvements made that one is at a loss adequately to describe them.

At the Savoy Hotel you will have a pampered stay with excellent cuisine and quality rooms. Kimberley is the provincial headquarters for the Northern Cape and is situated in the centre of South Africa. It is well-known worldwide for its diamond history, which the Big Hole illustrates. More than expected by

The picture does not quite tell the tale. Nonetheless the room was large, and included all the basics I needed. Staff were friendly and eager to please.

An interesting stay by

Clean and value for money, although we stayed on a Saturday night and there are two very noisy nightclubs: one is part of the hotel; and the other across the road. Staff friendly, except we arrived at 13:10 to be told check in was 14:00. We thought fair enough, until we discovered later that this 60 room hotel was almost empty.

Good value for money by

The hotel is well situated. The rooms are really big, the beds comfortable. The receptionists were good help for us. The restaurant was good but the waiting time too long. Breakfast good and hearty.

Savoy hotel by

Hotel has a beautiful old world charm. Unfortunately the location is not good. Staff were very pleasant.
