Restful stay by

Really enjoyed our quiet, restful stay! Our chalet was decorated nicely in African theme and the sheets were very soft and the place was clean. We felt safe. Internet in the common area is slow or absent at times, but it's free. There are chess games, some books, bar stools/chairs/couches/tables and TV in the common area. We preferred to sit on the front patio of our chalet for its view of nature and solicitude. Limited menu but great food at a fair price. Almost all the meat is done on the braai so they request you put your order in about an hour in advance and then show up at the appointed time. We were given a salad with our lunch the first day without asking for it, so the 2nd and 3rd day we asked for it and received a very nice salad, but were not informed that we would be charged for salads all 3 days, including the 1st salad we didn't request, so just confirm pricing on anything not spelled out on the menu. They have a well and told us the water was drinkable ? we boiled it just in case. Excellent service ? all of our lodging requests were granted rapidly at no additional cost? to change to a different chalet since our first one was small with a springy bed, to have our meal on our chalet's patio one night when our daughter needed to go to bed early, to have a camp cot and mosquito net for our daughter, tea and coffee in our rooms instead of the common area, our room being serviced each day, etc. Very quiet and peaceful place with nice scenery and decent privacy from the other chalets. Airport transport provided by the lodge was timely and $30 for us and our daughter 1 way. The back seat was missing a seat belt so I couldn't strap in our car seat, but the driving wasn't reckless. Road to the camp is a bad gravel road. So, although not everything was perfect and $120 a night isn't cheap, it was still cheaper than any other available lodging in Lusaka at the time and we really enjoyed ourselves.

We had a lovely stay here. Very romantic candle-lit dining area under the trees and stars. We stayed in the cottage, which is huge and has a lovely verandah. Good food and nice to have availability of free tea and coffee.Guests need to be aware that there is a stretch of dirt road to the lodge which is quite drive-able in a normal car, but scraped the bottom of our hired Toyota Corolla a few times.
