PHAMBUKA RESORT REVIEWS (66 %) rustic, relaxed, best braai ! by Pieter Venter, South Africa 16 July 2015 one is a bit reluctant to tell too many people about this little gem. we were lucky to be there when it was very quiet, and i'm sure in the high season with many people around your experience will be different. resort is being "fixed up" but the house we were so lucky to get, accommodated us very nicely, and had everything we could ask. DIssapointing by Martin Collins Martin, South Africa 28 September 2015 We were very disappointed, after having paid the full fee, to find that the beach camp where we had booked was not the actually the 50 meters from the beach as advertised. The entire resort is perched high up on a cliff overlooking the sea, with an almost vertical climb of approx. 250m to the beach. We decided not to even make use of our booking!
It was also a long way from the action in Ponta do Ouro.
the view by Kirsten Turbitt 30 September 2017 Need to clean up and maintenance. Need to work on the electrical. non of the electrical plugs was earthed . We had shocked on the kettle and on stove. The stove was really bad get badly hurt. View was amazing they need to keep that view. But need a good clean up. Had a good time. To see the moon rising over the ocean from our bedroom by Rina Heymans 13 March 2018 We stayed in Beach cottage 1. A new mattress & better quality bedding is essential. Blinds at the sliding doors to protect the rooms from the sun. Do not book the beach cottages by Darren Madgwick 22 March 2018 Other than the view there is nothing nice about this resort. We stayed in Beach cottage 4 - the pictures look nothing like the actual cottage. The cutlery was rusted, the toilet did not have a handle to flush, the bed and cushions were uncomfortable, the mirror in the bathroom you could not see yourself in, most of the electric cables are not properly earthed, no cushions on the couches inside the unit, overall it just felt dirty, the pool was not clean. We booked and paid for 3 nights but decided to only stay for 1 night. For the price you pay - rather go down the road and book at Maresol for the same price. The bathrooms are very dark maybe install a view transparent
fireglass sheets on the roof
No place to hang clothing when taking a shower there are some nice Fishbone hangers at the stalls in town.
May be build a chimney for the water heating system a lot of smoke early in the mornings.
You have the the nicest Camp in Ponta we will come again soon we realy enjoyed our stay Phambuka by Adre Bruinette 25 April 2018 Nice campsites but our biggest problem was the ablution. Especially the men's. Shower pipes loose, toilet doors in men's about half a meter from ground and no privacy. Tall guys like my husband could look onto the person showering next to him.There was only one globe in our bathrooms but after 3 days they fixed it after some of the people left earlier before there vacation was over.
