Petra's Country Guesthouse is affordable self-catering accommodation, situated on a farm. The guest house is a historic Victorian sandstone homestead in the Skurweberg Valley, only 9 km from Vryheid.We offer comfortable fully equipped units, hosting up to 45 guests. There are rooms available for singles, couples or groups. There are beautiful mountain views, clean air and fresh spring water. Continental and Farmers breakfasts can be arranged on request.Fundamentally a coal mining and beef farming town, Vryheid lies roughly 70 km northeast of Dundee in Zululand. Whilst Vryheid's surrounds are largely dominated by timber farming and crops such as groundnuts and maize, the town also lies near the sources of four major rivers named the White and Black Umfolozi, Mkhuze and Pongolo.Access to the wetlands in the area are thus good, and some of them are of regional importance, which is of added benefit to birdwatchers and provides a diversity of scenery for hikers to the area, coupled with the added value of several nature reserves.

I loved the soft winter sheets, hot shower and simple comfort of Petra's on this cool winter's day. Having the full Dstv bouquet was a bonus.

Ons het net vir een aand gebly, maar wens ons kon nog kuier. Baie mooi uitsig en lekker rustig. Die kleinding het baie plek gehad om te speel na die lang stil sit. Die huisie was baie skoon en netjies. Gaan verseker weer n draai maak.

I have stayed well enjoying, having freedom and piece of mind. I could be pleased if you can maybe fix the road, which is coming to Petra's house, cz if it is raining is a big problem to drive through. Thank you so much I'm gonna arrange and book again. We also enjoyed to see different animals.
