The place was extremely clean-they even cleaned it on a Sunday which was a pleasant surprise. We started our day with coffee on the deck with a stunning view, this was the highlight!
Unfortunately we did not have a vehicle with us because we left it at Kosi Bay Border, and not having a vehicle while staying at Ocean View Cabanas was extremely problematic for us. We were told that we would be 100 meters from the beach and main shops but this was not the case - it was way further. Since this accommodation is on a steep hill, we had to walk up hill and down hill in (hot sand) everyday carrying all our goodies (beach tent, cooler box, groceries etc.) to and from the beach/market plus carrying a toddler - this caused a lot of frustration and discomfort. I would not recommend this accommodation if you do not have a 4x4 because walking up and down this hill once a day was torturous. If you don't have a 4x4 make sure nobody has and joint/knee problems, and that you don't go with Grandparents or small children-they really will not be able to handle it. My husband and I are very fit and love walking, but this walk put a damper on the holiday because walking carrying a child/shopping in hot sand is another ball game...
If you do have a 4X4 this is probably the best place to stay in ponta :) the place is clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The view is breath taking and its a short drive to the beach/market. Ponta da Oura experience! by Lindie Steenkamp 07 February 2018 I loved spending time at the sea with my husband, exploring Ponta. It is a great place to stay at. Lots of Space and the bedding is great, theres everything u need for self catering. We had such a great time. Me and my friends had booked Challets 1 and 2. It was enough room for all 8 of us.
The room keeper Laura was very nice and welcoming. She treated us very well and was patient with us while we were waiting for pick up to the border.
Next year we are definitely going back to Ocean View.
Peace to Pontorians! The View by Melanie Anderson 02 May 2018 The view from Cabin 4 is amazing..however, the shower needs attention. The tiles were loose, the shower head broken and most of the time the water was luke warm. The cabin is spacious, but needs a little renovations and is filled with cockroaches.
