Golden Sunset offers comfortable accommodation in a quaint cottage called Dirk se Huisie. The cottage is located on a working farm called Looprivier; it is about 190 km from Cape Town. The cosy cottage can easily accommodate two adults and four children.

Dirk se Huisie dates back to the early 1900s. The cottage has a large enclosed fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen with a wooden dining table and chairs. There is no electricity and only gas is available. The kitchen area is equipped with a two-plate gas stove and a gas fridge-freezer. Guests will need to bring their bedding, drinks and food. This cottage is wheelchair accessible.

Golden Sunset is a romantic retreat for couples with its endless sunsets, and beautiful surroundings. Guests can enjoy hiking trails to the waterfall or mountain biking on the jeep tracks. The cottage is completely private and it offers a relaxing and safe environment.

Ons het heerlik gerus. Weg van al die geraas. Baie goed toegerus, als wat jy nodig het. Heerlike groot stort! Pragtige plek en lieflike mense. We had a wonderful visit. Away from all the noise. Very well equipped, everything you need. Lovely big shower! Beautiful place and lovely people.

It's really a "golden sunset"! From a lovely and charming place in the mountains, we admired an insanely beautiful sunset far in the ocean.A cozy heart warming cottage in a peaceful place. We also had fun trekking, a path starting right behind the house took us up to some really nice views.

Spectacular setting with views for days by

My wife and I spent three nights in Dirk se Huisie to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were bowled over by the spectacular scenery, tranquility and the hospitality displayed by Oom Johan and Tannie Pina.

The view and that couch! by

Definitely for a proper relaxation and off the grid, Dirk se Huisie is the place to be. That dam and lilos! (Yeah i burnt). We just cooked for 3 days and enjoyed the view with it. What a magical little treasure. We want to come again soon!

beautifull area, nice and quiet. however overpriced, the fact that you need to bring your own linen, cussions cleaning utensils firewood and take your rubbish home does not go down well. shower mediocre not very hot for winter

Mountains and views and peacefulness! Lovely walks! Lighting at night is not sufficient for reading etc.

Nestled within the Cedarderg mountains Dirk se Huisie is a secluded wonder. No electricty & mininmal signal this humble yet magical cottage is perfect if you're after tranquil beauty. The hosts, Elzette, Oom Appel/Jannie & everyone we encountered was super accommodating & friendly!
