Shemula Lodge is situated in the tranquility of the Maputaland bush. The lodge offers accommodation in small Chalets, Rondavels and Campsites. The lodge is isolated, yet it offers modern comforts and a relaxing environment.Each Chalet has an en-suite bathroom, electricity and fresh drinking water. The Rondavels and Campsites share a large ablution block with warm water showers. Breakfast and a light lunch are available on request. There is a bar facility and conference room on request. Guests can enjoy relaxing by the swimming pool near the Campsites.The location of the lodge offers plenty of activities; Tembe Elephant Park is home to the last of the free-ranging elephants and is only 15 km away. The Ndumo Game Reserve is only 17 km away and it offers a large number of birds.

A place in the bush by

If you look for a fancy lodge with colonial atmosphere, don't go there. If you want a place in the bush to hang out and meet some really lovely, down to earth people who love the bush and care for nature, this is the place to go! The rooms are quite basic, but have everything you need and will be improved in the next months. There is a nice bar to sit, watch TV or talk to the people from the Lodge. We felt welcome from the very first moment. The staff is easy to talk to and everything is very relaxed. There is also the option on game drives to Tembe with a Landrover, which we really enjoyed. It's a great place from where to explore Ndumo and Tembe Game Reserves.

It was comfortable and clean. Hot water and friendly people. Basic, but good enough for a one night stay.
