Mabalingwe Elephant Lodge holiday accommodation is an adequately furnished self-catering unit accommodating two people in the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve.

This unit comprises its own private boma creating a bushveld atmosphere. The unit is open-plan comprising of twin beds, a private bathroom, fitted with bath as well as a shower overhead. Guests have access to a small kitchenette with a microwave, a stove, a fridge, cutlery as well as all crockery.

Guests can enjoy activities such as Game drives, with a Lion-feeding every Sunday morning. Other activities in the area include sunset tours and bird watching.

The location is fantastic, the free roaming animals is definitely the best part. I would only say that I didn't like was that there was no indoor kitchen. It was a bit of an inconvenience to wash the dishes outside and considering the area and climatic it was difficult to keep the bugs outside with going in and out to wash or rinse something. There was also not much space to put the dishes once they were washed.

We were moved to Visarend as we preferred a double bed but some items in the Visarend unit need attention : 1. toilet were leaking 2. microwave turn table glass is missing making it difficult to warm up food. 3. wash-up tap of basin was leaking leaving large puddle on the floor. 4. the two hinges of the door of the wash-up basin were broken which made it difficult to open and lock. I am sure if these items were fixed, it will make the experience so much more memorable!
