Located below the border town of Chirundu, and just 60 km upriver from Mana Pools, Rukuru Bush Camp is an excellent destination for both avid anglers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. The bush camp offers unique accommodation with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. Bathroom amenities, complimentary tea and coffee and drinking water and tents have the use of a communal kitchen. A laundry service is available at an additional cost and please note, the tents do not have Wi-Fi.
Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, spotted hyena, eland, impala, waterbuck, zebra, warthog and hippo, are some of the larger herbivores seen regularly by guests. In addition, for bird lovers, 350 species including the Nyasa lovebird, yellow-spotted nicator, rock pratincole, banded snake- eagle and Livingstone's flycatcher occur.
Although more than 75 species of freshwater fish flourish in these warm, nutrient-rich waters, many anglers arrive with one thing in mind; landing a tiger. Tigerfish are probably the world's most infamous freshwater fish, revered for their power and fierce set of razor-sharp teeth.
