Okambara Elephant Lodge offers adventure and luxury on an exclusive game ranch in the middle of the Namibian bush where you can witness a special experience. On this 15000 hectare game ranch, you can look forward to comfortable accommodation.

The Okambara lodge lies about an hour east Windhoek's international airport in the middle of the
Okambara mountains, at an altitude of 1600, falling outside the malaria region.
With its four towers the main building reminds one of the Victorian castle Namutoni from the
outside, offering comfortable accommodation in Namibian country style inside.

Five large and comfortable apartments are at guests' disposal. One of them has been designed specifically for families and therefore has two separate bedrooms. The remaining apartments are each designed for two people. There are mini bars available in our two rondavels and the mountainhouse. There is a big fridge in the main house in our lobby. Okambara also has two thatched Rondavels each suitable for two people. The Rondavels are also equipped with private bathrooms.

Breakfast and dinner is served in the tastefully decorated living room. From there, guests have direct access to the large terrace complete with a barbecue facility, oven and a fireplace. Dinner is served on the terrace, especially in summer. From the terrace you can view the two adjacent waterholes where kudu, oryx, waterbuck and impala visit in the evenings to quench their thirst.

The lodge keeps elephants, rhinos, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, ostriches and lots of different types of antelopes. We offer our guests exclusive round trips and safaris to observe and photograph game.It is a memorable experience for old and young.

Lovely by

I thought the staff were lovely and one felt relaxed. Very impressed by the care of the cheetahs leopard and the lynx In all great weekend the only point was that the ranger did not speak enough English so it was hard to ask him relevant questions about the different aspects of the animals.

Beautiful lodge by

The lodge was beautifully located and our family room was spectacular- way nicer than anticipated.  If the weather had been a bit warmer, I would have taken full advantage of our patio (with lovely views) and pool.  A young German woman, who worked for the lodge, was very kind and did an excellent job describing the area and answering any questions we had.  She was also fluent in English- very nice since I think the majority of guests are German.  The only downside was the game viewing...everything ran in the opposite direction when they heard the car coming and the guide was not great.  Despite this, I would stay there again just for the relaxing atmosphere and facilities.
