Welgevonden is a charming guest house on a 3ha small holding on the outskirts of Calitzdorp. There are 3 wine cellars within walking distance of the guest house. The centre of Calitzdorp is only 1 km away. Calitzdorp is a corner of Kannaland (Klein Karoo) reserved for lovers of port wines, quaint old buildings and peace of mind. Welgevonden is for those who like to combine these things with warm hospitality. Reenen and Briëtte Barry offer four en-suite bedrooms, delightfully furnished with country style pieces and patchwork. Relax in the sitting room with open fireplace, television and kitchenette. The garden and swimming pool offer a cool and quiet place to relax. Guests can have dinner in town or use the braai facilities that are available. Briëtte enjoys cooking, treat yourself to her country-style breakfasts with apricots, figs and grapes in season at an additional cost. Alternatively there is a kitchenette available with tea and coffee making faciilities, a fridge and microwave for the exclusive use of our guests. The area offers wonderful oppurtunities for mountain biking, scenic drives or hikes. Your hosts know the area very well and can offer good advice.
