Experience the magic of the Rondevlei, a series of estuarine lakes that hold the key to the Garden Route's allure as South Africa's favorite holiday destination. As a designated Ramsar site, the Rondevlei prohibits boating and fishing, ensuring a serene and tranquil retreat, where birdlife flourishes. From the majestic African Fish Eagle to over 140 species of birds and a multitude of small mammals, the wildlife encounters here are simply enchanting.

Our exquisitely designed luxury houses provide the perfect sanctuary, accommodating a maximum of four adults and two children. Each house features two spacious bedrooms, a lavish bathroom complete with a shower, bath, and toilet, an additional toilet for added convenience, and an outdoor shower for an invigorating experience. With an upstairs loft to accommodate children, every member of the family can relish in the sanctuary of Reflections Eco-Reserve.

The accommodation was excellent, just as described on the website, and the photos are really what it looks like. The chalets are beautifully designed. It's really close to the lovely unspoiled beach at Swartvlei, with shops, cafés and restaurants nearby at Sedgefield or Wilderness. It was our 9th visit to the area, but the first to Reflections Eco-Reserve, we stayed a week and would truly love to go back if we can. Tim is hospitable and helpful, a charming host, and is very knowledgeable about conservation, animals and birds. Although it was just my husband and I staying there, I can imagine how wonderful it would be to stay there with children. A couple of comments for first-time visitors to South Africa from overseas: Please don't be put off by the gravel road, there are loads of them in South Africa, not a problem. Also don't be surprised at the number of dead trees, it's part of an extremely worthwhile national project that Tim can explain.
