Boschfontein Guest Farm is situated on a private game reserve near the picturesque mining town of Thabazimbi. The spacious en-suite bedrooms, lounge with DStv and swimming pool make a relaxing retreat from the many attractions offered in the area.

The accommodation offers bed and breakfast (a large traditional breakfast is served) as well as a self-catering option. The self-catering chalet sleeps six and has awesome views over the Waterberg Mountain Range. An open-air vehicle can be arranged for viewing of the game which includes impala, zebra, eiland, nyala, gemsbok, kudu and Blou Wildebees. There are over 10 km hiking trails through pristine bushveld.

One of the most memorable experiences: this place is as close to paradise as you can be; view from the chalets is breathtaking, Shirley and Hilton go to lengths to make you feel at home.

If you need quiet and peace combined with excellent hospitality, visiting Boschfontein is a must. Shirley and Hilton, the friendly owners of this establishment, have left no stone unturned to make the visit by my wife and I a memorable experience. As a break-away weekend from the rat-race, I cannot imagine any better destination. The view from the chalet is exquisite and we were even entertained with a dinner and game drive by our hosts one evening without any additional cost. I have already made my next tentative booking!

Boschfontein stay by

We had a very relaxing stay at Boschfontein farm, in the chalet for 2 people.  It is rustic accommodation with an outdoor kitchen using a gas fridge and oven, a 'donkey' boiler for hot water and a solar battery for lighting.  The views are amazing and it was very peaceful!



Boschfontein is a lovely getaway, but then you should travel to the farm and remain there for the full duration of your stay. The road to the farm is a bumpy dirt road, and the road from the farm house to the self-catering cottages is a 2km stretch of bad road for which you need at least an LDV. We were not prepared for no electricity; we stayed there in order to attend functions in Thabazimbi, which made preparations difficult. Be sure to arrive in daytime to familiarize yourself with the area and the facilities. Friendly, helpful owners and indeed a spectacular view.
