Mokolodi Backpackers is located 10kms southwest of the capital city of Gaborone, and is a short walk to Mokolodi Nature Reserve.Set in rugged semi-arid African bushveld and surrounded by an abundance of indigenous flora and fauna, Mokolodi Backpackers' offers comfortable and affordable self-catering accommodation and campsites, together with attentive service and warm and friendly hospitality.The accommodation comprises a luxury rondavel with en-suite facilities, thatched cottages with two single beds in each; two-sleeper timber huts; four-sleeper timber units with bunks; a single unit; and tents with single beds. All are clean, well maintained and secure. Camping facilities are also available with 220V power outlets close by. Parking is available on the property.Mokolodi Backpackers has a communal self-catering kitchen, and communal hot-water shower facilities with fresh towels and linen supplied daily. Wi-fi is also available.Nearby activities include a variety of game drives at Mokolodi Nature Reserve, horse safaris, hiking, bird watching and enjoying spectacular sunsets ? or just lounging around the pool or shooting pool at the bar.We at Mokolodi Backpackers are also happy to impart travel advice to guests for their further travels in Botswana, and willing to introduce them to Botswana culture and traditional African cuisine.Botswana's weather is both warm and dry for most of the year, although it does rain in mid-summer, and it can be quite nippy in mid-winter.

Great Getaway! by

It was a really nice quiet, in touch with nature, getaway from the crazy noisy of the city.

It was a pleasure to stay at Makolody. It is very close to nature and a very beautiful, quiet place so stay.I will visit it again and shall recommend it to all my friends who wants to visit Gaborone. I am pleased with the staff,they are very friendly and was very helpful to us.

The road to enter the Mokolodi plots from the A1 road is not visible at night. The people are kind and humble, the hospitality is on point. The rooms are clean. Sharing the pool with the birds is not really cool. But otherwise its a great place to stay at.

Mokolodi you old faithful! by

This was not our 1st visit and will not be our last. Hendrik has gone out of his way to give advice and support when our vehicle battery suddenly "died". The staff is friendly and efficient. We love this spot.

We had a fantastic time at mokolodi backpackers, simon and his team are fantastic, however i would not book through safari now again as there service is absolutely appalling... never again, rather book directly

Gem of a place by

What a find! We were heading out of Botswana back into SA and needed a one night stopover. Not expecting much we were pleasantly surprised to find a neat, well organised, fully kitted spot with friendly and helpful staff. We were 3 families staying in the 4-sleeper log cabins. Yes, they are tiny but the beds were comfy and we loved the surroundings. Communal bathroom and kitchen were clean and had everything we would need. The kids loved all the animals (pig, ducks, chickens) and even had a quick dip in the pool.
