Kaziikini is a budget environmental friendly, self-catering campsite situated on the way to Moremi South Gate in a private concession, approximately 62 km from Maun. The camp features 13 campsites, communal ablutions, en-suite tents with own showers, and a bar. Activities such as game drives, cultural tours and nature walks are available in the area, as well as day trips and mokoro excursions in Moremi.

The campsites all use the central ablution facility with hot showers and flush toilets in open-air reed constructions which uses solar power to heat the water and provide lighting for both the ablutions and the restaurant. One of these toilets is a recycling water toilet and has been working very well since it was installed.

The water for the campsites is pumped from a sealed borehole by solar power and is safe to drink directly from the tap. The campsite is a self-catering facility, but should you prefer, you are welcome to order meals from our restaurant.

very poor ratio quality/price by

We spent two nights in Kaziikini campsite. It's a really basic campsite, with poor maintenance. No problem for this, but 34 $/person /night is out of market!. The problem is that it's "only" 27 km south of entrance gate of Moremi reserve, so a good option in terms of km and time if you , just like us, do non find any place in the campsites inside the reserve. Maun is 60 km south of Kaziikini, so not a good option if you need to go in and out of the reserve each day

Nice but needs some attention to detail by

Good idea/concept. The 'restaurant' does not serve any food!!! Ablutions - whilst clean, need lots of repair. The 'occupied' ropes and missing in many of the toilets - surely a simple job to hang up some old rope?? NOTE : it takes an hour to drive the 28 km's to the Moremi gate.

The place is beautiful and treated with care . The facilities are pretty good and the staff very helpfull. I'd only suggest them to improve the brai units. Some of them are broken

Being close to nature (no fences) by

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Relative good value for money (Botswana terms).
