El Shaddai Backpackers is a one-hectare property with a swimming pool located in the upmarket Rayton area, next to Heuwelsig.It is within walking distance from Mizpah Lodge which has various facilities for paintball and horse riding, and offers coffee shops and a conference venue. It is also near to Ilanga Estate. Three self-catering chalets are available; two of the chalets have two bedrooms which can sleep up to five people.

El Shaddai by Anonymous, South Africa 29 June 2010 Even though the self catering unit was furnished with what was required and the staff were friendly, the area around the unit was really dirty - basically a veld with junk lying everywhere. Comparing the price of this place with what we paid for other units it was not really worth the monies paid. Very Basic by Paul Jensen, South Africa 22 July 2015 I do not like complaining but this place is barely suitable as a place to stay. You stay right next to the farm workers that play music loud and smoke weed all night long, almost everything is broken or breaking. Even the floor isn't even level! Dirt and farm rubbish is lying everywhere!
I lived in a tent for 2 years as a game ranger and I would've taken that anyday over this.
