Nkumbe Wildlife Estate is nestled in the Southern Mozambican bushveld close to the coastal villages of Ponta Malongane and Ponta d'Ouro, and just 15 km from the South African border.

The estate boasts 247-hectares of pristine coastal bushveld teaming with a wide variety of birdlife and game, including red duiker, bush pig, mongoose, impala, nyala, bushbuck, reedbuck and zebra.

Nkumbe Wildlife Estate is within easy reach of spectacular unspoilt beaches, world famous dive sites and pristine reefs, lively nightlife, local baraccas and excellent restaurants. And with so much to do including surfing, fly- and deep sea-fishing, whale watching, dolphin swimming, surfing and kite surfing, and shopping for local curios, you might just not want to leave.

We went to Nkumbe in December - the busiest time of the year yet we honestly felt like we were the only ones there. Because of the brilliant layout of the houses nestled in the thick bush you truly are not aware of your neighbours. We only saw that they actually existed the day we were all leaving the estate when we saw them drive out. Nkumbe is the perfect position for an incredibly memorable holiday - it gives you the best of all holidays combined - 4x4ing, beaching, exploring and being in a nature reserve. We even go to experience monkeys which 'claimed' the house while we were out and on our return they still didn't leave so we had no choice but to stay in our car until they got bored. Despite the house we reserved being burnt down in a devastating fire which claimed 5 houses, the owner Rob & Lisa, the manager and all those involved in its rebuilding were phenomenal in all coming together to make sure that it was perfectly finished and in time. We were the first guests to stay in the house and I am sure we will not be the last. Nkumbe we will definitely be back - THANK YOU.

Pleasant stay by

We were the only people staying so had the communal kitchen to ourselves. We stayed in the tent and it was very comfortable and quiet.
