Birdsong

Birdsong, Hermanus sits nestled in a grove of Milkwood trees, overlooking the Vermont Saltpan, which is a bird sanctuary. There are solar panels on the roof so loadshedding is no longer a problem. The four bedroom, three bathroom house is fully equipped for six people. This house is the ideal location for nature lovers wanting to relax away from the city. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen, and a spacious dining and lounge area with TV, DSTV . The living area has a wood-burning stove creating a cozy atmosphere in the house. The large verandah at the front of the house has a built in braai and offers spectacular views towards the mountains and across the lake. This is an ideal birdwatching spot. A grove of Milkwood trees at the back offers a cool place to shelter from the summer sun. The pan is fed from the mountain runoff and from rain and therefore the water level changes from season to season depending on the past rainfall. The house is a short stroll from the ocean tidal pool and only 10 km away from Hermanus which offers great beaches, mountain walks, markets, and many fine restaurants. The area has many nearby vineyards offering wine tasting. There is also an opportunity to play golf at one of two top golf courses. The area is known as one of the best land based whale watching destinations in the world. Our display rate is the minimum rate per night for four people. An additional per person rate will be charged if booking more than four people.
