Forest Bird Lodge is situated in an evergreen forest, secluded among indigenous trees, just outside of Tzaneen.

The lodge gives a feeling of anticipation for fairies and other woodland creatures, and the mist creeping through the forest gives it a mystical atmosphere.

The forest gives complete privacy, where guests can feel at one with nature. Various birds can be seen from the lodge as well as Samango monkeys that forage in the trees.

There are short walks along the mountain stream with beautiful waterfalls. A more strenuous walk takes you up through the forest to a lovely lookout point of the valley. Mountain bike trips of 5 km can also be enjoyed along the forest road.

We had a lovely weekend surrounded by the forest, birds, and the sound of the nearby waterfall. We loved the log cabin and would recommend it to anyone!
