Kraaldoorn Farm Stay offers accommodation in the east wing of the owner's 1887 Klein Karoo farmhouse and is located on a picturesque farm outside the town of Calitzdorp. The area is best known for its scenic routes, hiking trails, and iconic attractions, which include Boplaas Family Vineyards, the Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert, and the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn. There are also many birds for the birdwatchers.
The venue is ideal for cyclists and mountain bikers.
The east wing has a separate entrance as well as a verandah so that guests can enjoy their privacy. The home can accommodate 2 guests and comprises a cosy bedroom, separate bathroom, lounge, and kitchen. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and built-in cupboards. There is an additional single bed in the lounge. The bathroom has a bath, shower, basin and toilet.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer and a gas stove. The kitchen has a small dining table where guests can enjoy meals. Leading from the lounge is the private verandah with an outdoor dining table, 2 lounge chairs, and a recliner where guests can unwind and enjoy views of the succulent garden and hillside. Braai facilities are available.
The main house boasts an eclectic gallery that artistic guests may find interesting, while music enthusiasts are welcome to play the guitar or the Bluthner grand piano. For the more adventurous guests, the farm offers hiking trails that range from easy to challenging.
