Located behind the sand dunes of the Indian Ocean, in the coastline of Mozambique, you will find Naara Eco-Lodge and Spa - a luxury lodge and adventure heaven.

This exclusive paradise offers 10 Luxury Safari Tents which are surrounded by the African indigenous bush and overlook the calm waters of the Nhambavale Lake. These tents are built by mixing canvas tents and walls with large wooden doors allowing guests to feel the nature. Each tent is decorated with imported Balinese furniture and is furnished with a king-size bed and protected by a mosquito net. The tents are strategically placed so that all have beautiful views but still ensures privacy for the guests. They have covered verandahs which are furnished with comfortable sofas. The indoor en-suite facilities open to private secluded gardens where outdoor showers are found.

Not only does the calm, expansive lake serve as a tranquil and picturesque backdrop for the lodge, it also offers guests entertainment in the form of swimming, fresh water fishing, kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Birding, horse riding and community walks are also on offer, as well as the full moon rise walk which is a must to experience.

The ocean is close at hand with the unspoilt beach of Chidenguele located 2 km away. A wide variety of fish and other marine species live in the warm waters of Mozambique, turning its coasts into ideal deep fishing, snorkelling and diving safari destinations. Guests can either sunbathe by the water or take part in some of the activities on offer.

For dining, the lodge has developed fine recepies that merge local ingredients with concepts of international cuisine. While enjoying fine meals, guests can appreciate the superb views of the Nhambavale Lake. Guests may also dine privately at their own verandah or on full moon nights, dine on the pier overlooking the rising moon.

Built on top of a rustic wooden platform, Natura Spa gives the impression of floating on the waters of the lake. More than massages are offered including a set of treatments that will make you feel rejuvenated. While all treatments can be given separately, carefully elaborated packages allow visitors to indulge completely.

Just a dream! by

We were really the first guests there and everything was so goooood! Everything was so clean and well organized, and it's such a beautiful place! It's a great place to relax and to escape from the city life. You can appreciate the sunset, you can see the sunrise from your bed, you wake up with the birds' songs and you have a cute and lovely early morning breakfast in your bed every single day (and then you can get a really cool breakfast later!). The food is really delicious too! It's remote but you have many facilities. You can go to the beach and if you are bored there's a swimming pool or the lake a few meters from you! Really, the owners made us feel like special guests, we chatted so much! The staff were being trained while we were there but they were really good! We do recommend it!

A wonderful place to be! by

We spent six nights at the Naara Lodge with a group of eight people and everybody loved the place! The tented camp is wonderful, quite luxurous, quiet, relaxing and especially the lagoon with swimming and canooing is great! Benilda took care of us and helped with everything, and she organized a wonderful birthday party on the pier at the lagoon. The rest of the staff was very friendly, but some of them need some more training and organization to work with guests. On arrival at the Naara Lodge, I advise not to come in the evening hours when it gets dark as the "street" to the lodge is very sandy and not to easy to drive and only with 4x4 cars and driving experience. My all-in all rating: a very nice lodge and worth visiting and staying!

Worthy of a proposal by

The second we walked into reception we were greeted by the friendly staff which included Benilde. Shown to our beautiful room powered by solar, we had a view of the special lake. The Spa experience was AMAZING, would definitely recommend it. A packed picnic was provided for us as we were off to the beach. Dinner that night was spent on the extended deck out into the lake, the perfect place for me to ask my long time girlfriend to marry me. I couldn't have asked for a more romantic setting. Will definitely be back.

Very Peacefull by

The accommodation was excellent and the view and the owners were very friendly and the staff were very helpful. But the food is very average and nothing special and very expensive for what you get. You cannot bring food in there so you have to eat what they provide this was the only thing that bothered us.
