Mesklip Guest Farm is your escape outside the city. Nestled in the famous Namakwaland Granite koppies and flowers, our guests can rest in our fully equipped self-catering units. Our guestrooms are not only the answer to some well earned rest, but is a history fanatic's dream. The building dates to pre Anglo Boer War and was used as legendary General Manie Marits' field office during the war.

We take incredible pride in our campsites, each with electricity points, water tap, rubbish bin and built braai facilities. The ablution facilities are cleaned daily to the highest standards.

Hikers will rejoice in our trails among the granite hills and discover rare species of flora. Be welcomed by our herd of 50+ tame Springbuck that will come close to you when they see you in the veld. There are routes to suite all levels of hiking experience.

The 4x4 enthusiasts can bring their vehicles to our exquisite 4x4 route. The highlight is definitely "Klippie se Kruin" where you can enjoy a wide panoramic vista of Namakwaland.

The kids will love interacting with the tame farm animals and lovely jungle gym on our grounds.

As you may expect from a small town, Chris and Berdine is the embodiment of the warm and welcoming spirit of small town hospitality. Not only will you walk away with a full heart, but feel like you just became family.

Dit was die SWAKSTE verblyf wat ons nog voor bespreek het. Ek het Mesklip geskakel toe ons in Springbok aangekom het om te hoor of hulle hout beskikbaar het. Hulle het ons meegedeel dat ons maar eerder self hout moet bring. Ek doen toe navraag oor die Restaurant want Safarinow sê en ek haal aan "The Mesklip Restaurant is one of the locals' best kept secrets. With owner, Berdine de Klerk, personally preparing your meal. A mother of three she always ensures that you experience the local Springbok cuisine, made with a few De Klerk family secrets.". Maar moes toe hoor die restaurant is besig om toegemaak te word. Hulle het toe aangebied om vir ons Steak te maak met chips en slaai en is gevra of ons Rump of T-bone wil hê en ek vra toe Rump asb. (is nie seker of hulle 3 het nie). Eers toe ons daar aankom word vir ons gesê hulle het nie krag nie want Eskom werk aan die krag. (Ons sit met 3 dae se bederfbare vleis en kos - want ons is oppaad Grootvalleij toe) Hoekom is daar nie vir ons voor die tyd laat weet hulle gaan nie krag hê nie, hoekom het hulle nie vir ons gesê toe ek uit Springbok geskakel het nie. (Ons sou dit verstaan het en dan reëlings getref het en voorbereid gewees het)Daar word darem gereël om die vrieskas 'n ent verder daarvan daan te gebruik. Na die afpakkery moes ons uitvind daar is geen ys beskikbaar nie. Nou moet ons weer terugry Springbok toe om ys te kry om ons drinkgoed koud te hou. Die voordeur moet jy mooi hanteer want dit het beter dae geken. Die kamer met die 2 enkel beddens se nagvalle was opsigtelik vuil. (Onverskoonbaar). Die blindings is stukke uit. Omtrent al die vensterknippe is stukkend en kan nie vasdraai waneer dit oopgemaak word nie. Alles omtrent die verblyf is verslete en afgeleef. Antiek en oudtyds is pragtig, MAAR dan moet dit netjies en heel en instand gehou word.Die ete (NET T-bone) was HEERLIK. Wenk: moenie vir iemand 'n keuse gee indien jy nie kan gee wat jy voorstel nie.
