Meadow Lane Country Cottages is situated in a tranquil environment amid a park-like setting, just outside of Underberg. We offer five self-catering cottages surrounded by beautiful old trees and lively birds and our peacocks that love to display their colours. The gem of Meadow Lane has to be the dam, of which is home to weavers, moorhens and visiting ducks, geese and cormorants. It is also stocked with bass, where catch-and-release fishing is welcome. This is a small dam which is fun for the casual fisherman and kids. Enjoy a visit from our ponies and sweet little donkey, Rosie while having breakfast on your veranda. Spot the otters that swim between our dam and river! Trampoline, swings and monkeybars for kids to enjoy as well as a short zip line over the dam. Meadow Lane has its own airstrip suitable for light sport aircraft. Hangar space is available. Activities in the area include trout fishing, horse riding, walking trails along the river, mountain bike trails, hiking, tubing and canoeing to name but a few.

MEADOW LANE COUNTRY COTTAGES REVIEWS (90 %) Excellent service & beautiful setting by Shavani , South Africa 10 March 2014 Meadow Lane was absolutely beautiful, clean and neat. The hosts Lesley and Scott were warm, accommodating and most helpful. They managed to turn a disaster into a pleasure. We were caught in a hail storm while on Khotso horse trail. We were stranded, soaking wet and bruised but Scott and Lesley came to the rescue. Not only did they fetch us, they were back the next morning to help us get our car back from Khotso after we were stuck there. There kindness will forever be remembered and we will definitely be back soon ( just no horse riding ever again) The place to go and relax by Hennie Marx, South Africa 24 March 2014 Received an email from Lesley before we left to inform us about the expected weather and about arrival and keys etc. Were met on arrival by Lesley and her husband and assisted us to check in. They were very accommodating and helpful in recommending a restaurant close by for dinner. Very nice place to go and stay if you need some peace and quiet. Value for money! Small bathroom but perfect for a little getaway. I would have loved to have stayed for longer. Only suggestion would be to provide braai tongs in the kitchen :) we loved our stay! Amazing scenery by Clinton Nortje 27 November 2017 Meadow lane Cottages is an extremely neat and well presented establishment in the Drakensberg Gardens. I went up to do the Sani Stagger 42km race and felt relaxed at all times, with little benches placed perfectly in certain spots around the very big gardens with dams and a river running through it. The cottage itself was cosy and well sized with a lovely little veranda area to braai on. Next time with better weather and more time, I'll definitely spend more time on the perfectly cut lawns and soak up some of Underbergs sun.
