Situated 180 km from Cape Town, on R60 (between Ashton and Swellendam), Mazwil Retreat is a 450 ha farm with abundant protea, renosterveld, birdlife and animal life typical of the untouched veld of this area. The retreat is surrounded by dairy, fruit, pork, and wine farms. The fully equipped house offers two double rooms (one en-suite) and a bunkroom sleeping four. Enjoy yourselves in the pool at the house or relax in the lapa at the dam. Walking/ hiking. Bird watching, Bass fishing. Wine and cheese tasting close by.

MAZWIL RETREAT REVIEWS (88 %) Very relaxing by Pierre Coetzee, South Africa 10 August 2010 We had a wonderful stay at Mazwil Retreat. It was very relaxing with spectacular views. The house is very well equipped and the host is very friendly and helpful. We would like to go back in the summer when we can make use of the pool and swim in the dam. Absolutely brilliant by Jaco Van Niekerk, South Africa 03 January 2012 We stayed on the farm for six days over new years and enjoyed everything about it. Four couples fit in comfortably and there is so much to do. We caught quite a bit of fish in the dam (on fly's, lures and worms), went golfing in the surrounding towns, relaxed at the pool for hours and even enjoyed a mountain bike ride on the challenging single track of a neighbouring farm which Ruth had arranged for us on request. Ruth was an excellent hostess and she assisted us with various random queries and requests and made our stay even more enjoyable. We've already ordered another stay. The house was HUGE, the view was magnificent, the beds were comfortable and the guests (the four of us) were happy :) It is in the wild though so if you're scared of bugs and/ or spiders, be warned. Having said that though, the house was very clean. We just needed to shake out the bath towels before using them ;)

Spacious and comfortable accommodation. Well appointed. Farmhouse getaway by Kim Filies 30 April 2018 No neighbours so completely private. The vista was amazing. Kids could explore unattended as it was completely safe.
