Landor Stud's Farm Cottage is a self-catering cottage located on the Landor Warmblood Horse Stud Farm at the foot of the Magaliesberg. Here we farm with grass, horses, cattle, and sheep.

The cottage sleeps four guests and comprises two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, and basin.

The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, a fridge, cutlery, and crockery. There is also a breakfast counter with chairs. The dining area has seating for four guests and the lounge area has comfortable seating and a fireplace. There is also a reading room to catch up on your book. The unit has a double garage and an entertainment area. It is also fully-fenced and pet-friendly.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time away from it all on the farm. The owners were very friendly, showing us around the farm and introducing us to the sheep and horses. They advised us on activities and restaurants in the area and responded immediately when something needed to be fixed. We will definitely be back!

So this place was labeled "cottage in the farm" and we went there hoping for just that. Our drive to the farm was pleasant despite the pouring rain and thunder. We reached our destination with no hustles at all, the terrain was smooth even the gravel road was manageable without a 4X4 vehicle. We were warmly greeted by Herman the owner, and made to feel at home in our new home. We were impressed that this was not a cottage but a beautiful farm house with the most beautiful garden, with trees around the house giving us all the privacy we needed. Inside, the house was spotlessly clean with big sized 2 bedrooms, 2 lounge areas with a cozy fireplace, a full kitchen with a scullery and all the appliances we needed for the weekend. The place comes with a DStv Premium package making sure you don't miss out on any of your shows. The house has beautiful personal touches, making it more of a home than a hotel or BnB. We were woken up to a sound of monkeys playing on the trees, giving this place that farm feeling. Outside our windows we could see horses grazing peacefully. There is a restaurant a few kilometers from the farm that offers the most amazing food and a deli with fresh cakes baked daily. We took walks around the farm and met Karen, the co-owner and she took us around the farm, we got to see and touch the horses in the stables. We visited the sheep and got the farm experience. The pictures on the website and reviews do not do justice to this place. In my opinion this is the most beautiful part of South Africa with a prestine environment. A perfect place to reset and recharge, we will be visiting this place at least once every year and the next time we are bringing the kids. The owner's hospitality makes you want to stay longer, and yes we extended our stay with 1 more day!
