The beautifully restored Green Lantern Inn, originally Established in 1892 as The Coach Inn. South African friendly rates, bed and breakfast included, Pub and restaurant on site. Situated in the quaint Van Reenen Village, Halfway between Durban & Johannesburg, & 380km from Bloemfontein. Just 1km off the N3 at the top of Van Reenen's pass. Making it an Ideal half-way stop over.

There are a variety of rooms all spotlessly clean and fitted with modern heating and air-conditioning for your comfort. Each room is individually decorated in olde country style - refreshingly different to the anonymity and sterility of big chain hotels.

The Green Lantern Inn also serves as a fantastic Wedding, Family Reunion, Party, & Function Venue, conveniently situated for everyone - "Let's meet half way" - We are now able to cater for 150 function guests. 70 to sleep in the hotel and others accommodated in comfortable accommodation nearby The Half Way Noggin Pub is an attraction in its own right, enjoy the roaring fire, large selection of refreshments served, and meet Bo-Jangles the resident Donkey.

The country kitchen offers scrumptious food all day in the restaurant, or in the English country garden with a farmyard and children's playground The new owners have brought the grand old lady back into her prime, definitely worth a visit!

My fith stay by

Greenlantern has become my stopover between Bloemfontein and our anual sea holiday. We are campers or caravaners. A breakfast buffet on the morning of departure allows me anough time to drive to out destination, set up camp and start our holiday immediately. Beds are comfortable, clean rooms and linen. Friedly and welcoming staff. Greenlantern has inherited us as regulars. We are currently on holiday and if we decide that on the day of return we are going to reach home in the dark. We will definaty consider a sleepover again

We loved the hospitality, vibe in the pub ( the resident donkey is of course a contributing factor) as well as the food. Will recommend to our friends.
