Evergreen River Guest Farm, Groot Marico

Evergreen River Guest Farm is a privately owned farm situated on the banks of the Groot Marico River, approximately 9 kms outside of Groot Marico. We are a comfortable 2 - 2,5 hrs drive from Johannesburg on the N4 Platinum Highway in the North West, between Rustenburg (90 kms) and Zeerust (40 kms). We are a 1 hr drive from the Botswana border. Accommodation comprises of 2 free standing private cottages, "Le Butterfly & "Star Gazer", away from the main farm house and close to the river - and 1 free standing cottage "Rain Lily" that is 20m away from the main farm house. Le Butterfly & Star Gazer offer the same facilities. Each cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests. Each cottage has 1 main bedroom with a double bed and en suite bathroom. 1 private bedroom with 2 single beds and en suite bathroom. The open plan dining/sitting room has 2 single beds. The cottages have a large open plan sitting/dining/kitchen room area with an indoor fireplace and large sliding doors that lead onto the patio and undercover braai area. There is a private natural rock splash pool, outdoor shower (stoute stort) with hot and cold water and large firepit for star gazing. Should you be a larger group than 6 paying guests in the cottage, we are able to afford you the opportunity of camping in your tents and sharing the cottage facilities. Tenting costs are 0 to 5 years no charge, 6 to 11 years R50 per child per day and 12 years and up R100 per person per day. The cottages are mountain facing and within 200m of the river. Rates at Star Gazer and Le Butterfly are: 0 to 5 years no charge, 6 to 11 years at R200 per child per night and 12 years and up at R400 per person per night. Rain Lily is a free standing unit that is 20m away from the main farm house and offers the following: Established garden, private entrance, carport. There is a large open plan sitting and dining room with sliding door leading onto the garden, and 2 single beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Private bedroom with double bed en suite bathroom. Bedroom leads onto patio. Bathroom has a bath and stand-in-bath shower. There is an undercover braai on the patio. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Rates at Da Flat are: 0 to 5 years no charge, 6 to 11 yrs R150 per child per night and 12 and up R300 pppn.Our units are self catering. We do not provide swimming/bath towels. Bring your own bikes and enjoy riding all the dirt roads in and around the farm. Come hike, swim, fish, picnic, star gaze, read, walk, pick citrus in the orchard and pecan nuts (when in season), feed the hens, feed the sheep, or just chill!The Marico Eye is 30kms away from us. Bring your scuba/snorkelling gear and maybe spend a day braaing/picnicing at the Eye.Bring your own tubes and lilo's to enjoy the Groot Marico River that runs through the farm ? and your own fishing rods to catch yellow fish, barbell and bass.There is a substantial amount to be seen and done in and around Groot Marico and we will gladly assist with information on these activities.
