Elandsrus Country Lodge is situated in the Three Sisters area which is a well-known landmark for all travelling on the N1 between Johannesburg and Cape Town. While Elandsfontein Farm is an active working sheep farm, it is also host to guests wanting to stay amongst the beautiful surroundings that the Karoo has to offer.

The old farmhouse was built in 1924 and renovated in 2003. It offers two farm-style rooms with en-suite bathrooms for guests. Whether you are sitting outside enjoying nature and the bush or using the indoor facilities, you will experience space, peace, quiet and true Karoo hospitality.

The lodge has four en-suite rooms with a large entertainment area for everyone to relax in, self-catering facilities as well as four braai areas. For those wanting to try true Karoo hospitality and home-made meals, dinner and breakfast are served in the dinging room of the farmhouse.

For the adventurous, the farm offers many roads to walk and enjoy a vast amount of bird life, small antelope and a diverse array of vegetation with the sounds of nature. Bring your mountain bike along for rides with breathtaking views, and as you may have heard, the most beautiful stars light up the sky at night. Please join your hosts, Patrys and JH van der Merwe, on this beautiful Karoo farm and experience Karoo hospitality at its best.

Baie lekker gebly. Gasvrou - uitstekend. Sal enige tyd weer daar oorslaap. Had a very enjoyable stay. Hostess - excellent. Will stay over again anytime.

The lodge is fantastic. Reception and service was the best. I've rated it 4 Star but if it had a little swimming pool, it would have had a 5 Star rating for sure. Great place and highly recommended!

All of it ,room , hearty meal and the farm .Patrys and JH are lovely couple.Highly recommended.

Friendly Owners by

Expected the lodging to be closer to the road, which in hindsight was actually preferred. Unfortunately I had no cellphone reception. The owners were friendly and treated every guest as if they were family visiting. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I have and will recommend this lodging to all my friends and family who want to experience true Karoo hospitality!

Elandsrus to go back again and again by

After my last visit 10 years ago the lodge has received many improvements making it even better than I remembered it. Our hosts are always very hospitable and it was a pleasure to see them after so many years.

The Peace and Quiet by

If you are looking for peace and quiet and hosts who exactly know when to chat to you and when to leave you alone, this is the place! Also worth mentioning is the beauty of this farm - birds, vegetation, grazing sheep, a homestead with lots of character, down-to-earth hosts, etc. We will always stay at Elandsrus whenever we have to travel the N1 through the Karoo. We highly commend this lodge and its people.
