Elalini Backpackers is set in the beautiful Knysna located on the Garden Route. Guests are central to various restaurants, the harbour, and the beach.

There are five houses on the property. Two of the houses are used for the backpackers. Each of these houses has three rooms which can accommodate 12 guests each. There is also a communal lounge, a dining room, and a braai area. The other three houses are available on a bed and breakfast meal basis and have double rooms with shared bathrooms. These guests also share a lounge area.

During their stay guests should drive out to the well-known Knysna Elephant Park, visit the Garden Route National Park, and spend some time at the Wild Oats Community Farmers Market.

Doug was an exceptional host, the accommodation was clean and staff was friendly.  The location is fabulous and we would definitely visit again.  Pancakes and cheese cake was divine.  Loved the dogs:-)

Perfect start to our holiday by

Hi We travelled from Cape Town on a hot day and by the time the bakkie pulled in to Elalini I was ready for some shade, peace and I found it in our room . The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms were gratifying and we were sorry to leave next morning to continue our travels east. We will explore more next time . The hospitality was gentle and gracious and not invasive and everyone felt free to enjoy .

Funny shower by

I loved the breakfast, the dogs and the atmosphere. I didn't like the dirty and intermittent shower. The room was too small for 5 people, I really didn't know where to put my backpack

Comfort and warmth! by

Elalini is cute and beautiful, quiet and friendly. The heater in the lounge was potent so I was cosy even on my own on a freezing night. The bed was big and comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. Definitely on my list of places to return to!
