Found in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, this unique, intimate and extremely diverse 5500-hectare wilderness area on top of the Soutpansberg Mountains is fondly called Sigurwana meaning ?Close to Heaven?.
Extremely eco-friendly, using spring water and solar-powered energy, the lodge is lovingly crafted with natural materials from the surrounding Sigurwana Wilderness Reserve, including rounded rock walls that follow the flow of nature and a thatch roof that blends seamlessly with the ecological environment. Sigurwana Lodge enhances the authentic back-to-nature experience guests enjoy at the impressive mountain-top wilderness reserve.
Guests have a choice of uniquely designed chalets, a safari tent, and the Ystervark suite that can accommodate between two to four people. Tea and coffee facilities, home-baked biscuits, fresh mountain water and morning gowns are provided in all of the units. The chalets are furnished with twin beds and offer en-suite bathrooms with showers, outdoor showers, and open onto lovely verandas with deck chairs. Each chalet also has its own distinctive colour scheme and charm.
The elevated safari tent has a lantern-lit wooden deck, and comprises two bedrooms furnished with twin beds, that can convert to a king-size bed in the main room, and a cosy lounge area. The rooms have a shower and bath en-suite, and two outdoor showers are also available.
Ystervark is a creative structure furnished with twin beds, and has an en-suite bathroom, as well as an outdoor shower. The unit has a cosy fireplace, opens onto a covered verandah and has a top deck where guests can relax.
