The Rosendal Country Retreat is newly renovated and now open for business! We are still in the process of renovating the property - we have completed twelve rooms and a cosy communal lounge and dining room!

In-room facilities include a kitchenette, with complimentary freshly baked mini bread loaf and basics like coffee, tea and sugar, as well as a spacious bathroom with high-quality amenities. There is also a cosy fireplace and a private patio overlooking the garden.

Rosendal is a small farming town and arts colony 49 km north of Ficksburg in the Free State province of South Africa which was founded in 1908. It has become a popular tourist destination, known for spectacular scenery, including the surrounding mountains, and is home to a community of artists and small business owners.

The town has a number of attractive buildings and early-20th-century homes. There are several art galleries and several small cafes cum restaurants as well as a heritage district of restored buildings in the former downtown

This is a hidden gem- beautiful place in a peaceful arty town. The rooms are really well done with good linen, modern designs and gorgeous gardens. We especially liked the wood burning jacuzzi. We have already booked our return visit.

Absolutely loved the hot tub. Stunning views at sunset. Personnel was so friendly & made us feel at home straight away. Unfortunately, we had loadshedding on Saturday night, but unit was equipped with rechargeable lights. Luckily the fireplace in the unit also helped, more reason to "snuggle up" with your partner.
