Birdsong Cottage is nestled into the side of the hill overlooking the forest and the lower reaches of the mountain. The centrally located Champagne Valley is a superb holiday destination situated just two hours from Durban and three to four hours from Johannesburg.
There are three bedrooms with private bathrooms. The dining and lounge areas open onto a large wooden deck overlooking a lake, forest and the rolling hills of the lower Berg. There is a modern kitchen with a gashob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave and fine crockery. There is a daily cleaning service for your comfort. The bedrooms have fans for the summer and radiators for the winter.
During the early mornings and evenings, bushbuck and duiker may be seen from here. Other animals found in the immediate area include, serval, porcupine, jackal, baboon, vervet monkeys and several species of mongoose as well as the Cape clawless otter. A nearby Vultures Restaurant ensures frequent overhead sightings of the Cape vulture.
