Shanks Farmstay offers comfortable and beautiful accommodation situated just outside of Steynsburg, off the R56.

This is a small town nestled in a ring of mountains and hills.The farm offers two relaxed rooms with lovely garden surroundings.

The Family Room faces the garden and can sleep four guests with DStv access and air conditioner. The self catering apartment sleeps three guests with local tv channels only.

Continental breakfasts are in rooms, however a full kitchen/dining room is available for use by quests to prepare meals or alternatively where establishment will serve meals on request.

We had an excellent stay at Shanks. Our host Maureen acted with extreme professionalism and went out of her way to make us feel at home. The facilities are of a very high quality and were sparkling clean. The food was excellent - a taste of the real Karoo. And the price was more than affordable. I would certainly make a point of staying at Shanks again.

Excellent on all three occassions that we have stayed over on our way to or from the Cape. Excellent hospitality and comfortable accommodation. We are especially grateful that they were so welcoming to our 7-week-old puppy who loved their garden and their cats!

Maureen was a superb hostess. The evening meal she served, was really good. Room was very comfortable. In all honesty we could not fault a single thing.

Lovely garden with place for children to play. Very helpful and caring hostess. The only advice I would give is to suggest that a top sheet be supplied when weather is hot as a duvet is a bit too warm
