Welcome to Meerkat Manor.

Meerkat Manor is a beautiful holiday home in Kranspoort, a holiday village in Middelburg near the Loskop Dam.
There is sleeping accommodation for 12 guests and the house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open plan kitchen and living area. 2 of the bedrooms have queen-size beds and the other 2 rooms each has 2 quarters. The living area has 2 sofa beds for children. The bathrooms have baths and showers. The kitchen has a fridge freezer, stove, oven, microwave and cooking utensils. Other facilities include a swimming pool, boma, lapa and TV. There is secure parking on site. Nearby attractions include bird watching, hiking, swimming, fishing, cycling, game viewing and mountain biking. Kranspoort also offers a wide variety of game and birds.

Peace and quiet in the bush by

It has a very practical planned setup. It is easy to move from one point (say the boma) to the next (whether the living room or the veranda at the swimming pool). If it should rain, you would still be able to braai under roof at the build-in-braai. There is even a small braai at the swimming pool. The swimming pool is more small in size - more like a splash pool - but serves it purpose for cooling down during those warmer says. Beds are comfortable to sleep on and there is enough extra duvets or blankets if needed. The house also have a aircon (though we didn't get to test it, seeing it was not that warm over the weekend, neither to cold.) The shower was lovely and everybody agreed that the warm water was also adequate. There is also a "open air" shower at the swimming pool. Overall - Meerkat Manor has all the basics needed for a lovely break-a-way for the family, a small group or friends/colleagues. Don't expect a HD TV as well as DSTV. But who need it anyway when you want peace and quite in the bush? The house is well maintained. Some suggestions - the lights at the boma does not work (fortunately the lightning around the house gives enough light. Still, it would help if that could be fixed). PS. Its a pity that Meerkat Manor is in the market. Hopefully the next owners will also be willing to rent it out as a guest house.
