An authentic farm hideaway, set against the slopes of the Paardeberg mountain, only 1 hour's drive (75km) from Cape Town. Close enough to get to, yet a perfect place to get away from it all.

A humble, rural retreat where you can quickly sweep away the stress of city living and enjoy wide open spaces and fresh air amid the vines on our working, family owned wine farm. Explore the vineyards, swim in the dams and expect the most spectacular sunsets and stunning Swartland views.

The WINEMAKERS COTTAGE, which is over 100 years old, is set between the old vineyards, veggie garden and farm dam. It is fully equipped for self-catering, with two en-suite bedrooms with roll top bath and/or shower and locally sourced, all-natural selection of bee product toiletries provided.

Underfloor heating in both bedrooms and bathrooms as well as air conditioners in all rooms. Luxury linen & towels, small safe, hairdryer and USB plug points beside the bed and in the living area for charging. Curl up on the sofa in winter in front of the large indoor fireplace (can also braai here) with a good book and bottle of our Family Wine - hot water bottles and Xhosa blankets provided.

Nespresso machine, tea / coffee / sugar / milk and homemade farm rusks all there for your convenience. Our farm cook Elsa Smit will have a freshly baked farm loaf waiting for you on arrival and you are more than welcome to help yourself to some of our free-range farm eggs from the chicken coop. Our converted SILO ROOM consists of one open plan master bedroom with king size bed, luxury cotton linen and towels, air conditioning and en-suite wet room shower with locally sourced, all-natural selection of bee product toiletries.

Hairdryer, pool towels and hot water bottles provided. Small kitchenette equipped with Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, microwave and under counter fridge. Our farm cook Elsa Smit will have freshly baked bread / rusks waiting for you on arrival. Tea / coffee / milk / butter provided in your room. You are welcome to cool off in the small farm dam behind the chicken coop. This is shared with the Stables accommodation. Please use the pool towels provided in your drawer.

Located only an hour north of Cape Town (75km) this is a place where the the rain falls less and the sun shines more. The Swartland is the gateway to the West Coast and is home to some of the best wines in the country. Expect sweeping wheat fields, bright yellow canola fields, heritage vineyards, olive groves and an abundance of rich bird life. Visit some of the award winning wine farms in the area. Please note that appointments for tastings often need to be booked in advance.
