Vyge Valley Estate is situated on the R27 on the West Coast. It is less than an hour's drive from Cape Town and promises a secluded and peaceful getaway.The estate has a Manor House, three self-catering cottages and a Farm Stall. It is the ideal wedding venue as there is enough room for guests and it is a short drive from the city. The Manor House has six bedrooms and each of them leads to the veranda. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area, a dining area, and a bar. This is a spacious unit and is also ideal for conferences or team-building activitiesThe self-catering cottages can accommodate up to six guests and all the cottages have bathrooms with showers. The fully equipped kitchens include microwaves, two-plate stoves, and bar fridges.Yzerfontain is a short drive from Vyge Valley and guests can drive out to enjoy its beautiful beach. The West Coast National Park is a 10-minute drive from the estate and guests can view the wonderful bird life and indigenous fauna and flora at their leisure.

The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the host made an effort to serve us early morning breakfast. Unfortunately there was no hot water in the morning and breakfast a bit disorganised.

relaxing weekend away by

Had a lovely time at the estate. I initially missed some of the usual creature comforts such as dstv but soon appreciated the extra quiet time it afforded. I found it a really good family venue as the cottages are spacious and the kids love the farm animals and extra friendly zebras. 

Very Basic by

Very basic cottages. Take your own dishwashing liquid, cloths, shower/hand soap. No large bowls or containers for salad etc. No wine glasses. There are pots and a pan. Food at farm stall not bad and quite a few eating places for breakfast, lunch close by. Try Beulah's Farmstall 500m before the Yzerfontein turnoff for breakfast/lunch and some delicious Italian style breads.

Nature Getaway by

Firstly it is not in Darling. It is a 15 minute drive away. Also for the price we were expecting a bit more (it is very basic, just a very old microwave, 2 plate stove, kettle, toaster & bar fridge). HOWEVER if you were expecting just one step up from camping then the place is fantastic. There are loads of birds and animals to see. Having zebras on your doorstep is not something you will experience everyday. The people are very friendly and took good care of us.
