Not quite right by

A Lodge on the Lake is exactly what it says... a lodge with stunning views of the lakes of Wilderness. Wildlife on the lake can be viewed at leisure from any of the balconies with the picturesque Outiniqua mountains as a backdrop. The lodge itself is a stunningly beautiful building, the landscaping and architecture designed to the finest detail. The rooms are luxurious and one has to make a conscious decision to go somewhere and to leave the lodge. However. All is not what is to be expected from a 5 star establishment. Here are some of the concerns. We were disappointed to find that all the condiments in our room were not replenished before our arrival, or on a daily basis. Multiple requests had to be issued. Breakfast did not cater for the number of guest at the lodge, hence the not so early birds had to pick at the leftovers. No air refresher in the bathroom?! We could not combat nature or the smell of cigarettes from the guests before us in the lavatory. General maintenance also needs some attention with basin not flowing properly, fittings coming loose, etc.
