Komyntjie 2 is a romantic retreat for two waiting to welcome you to the sheltered shores of Paternoster.

Two guests are well accommodated in the unit's cosy interior, furnished with wooden features, comfort and calm neutral tones. The kitchen is well equipped and looks into the furnished lounge with DSTV.

This very quaint self-catering unit enjoys a swimming pool which is shared with the other Komyntjie guests and is located mere metres away from the sandy beach.

Not what we expected by

We stayed at Komyntjie 2 for two nights after staying in Komyntjie 3 for two nights... and we were very disappointed. The unit is clean and fairly nicely appointed, however the noise from the occupants above is really disruptive, you can hear every step and the bed in Komyntjie 2 is right under the upper unit's bathroom... which means it sounds like someone is weeing on your head... you can literally . hear . every . drop... not nice. Furthermore, the Unit next door (I think it's Komyntjie 1) has a living area and indoor pool which is again, next to the bedroom which means that the neighbors playing in the pool at 1 am will keep you awake. Voorstrand seems to be in the not-so-nice part of town... next time we won't stay in this area at all.

It also might be worthwhile to know that most bookings for Paternoster are administered through Paternoster Rentals... even if you book it through another portal.

A last note: Paternoster wasn't the quiet retreat we expected. All accommodation we saw had a LOT of security... burglar bars, alarms... we were thankfully not affected by crime but you can clearly see that crime has had an impact on the town. Keeping all windows and doors closed at all times isn't very relaxing. Do your research before you go and be prepared to watch your back.
