Hermitage Huisies, in the picturesque Hermitage Valley, is situated just 2 km outside of Swellendam at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains and right next door to popular berry farms. This area is well known for its spectacular views, tranquillity and abundant outdoor activities.The Zaayman Family would love for you to share a little piece of our heaven and stay a while in one of the four self-catering cottages on the farm. All our cottages are very comfortably furnished with all the necessities. Each cottage comes with an essential braai area. We appreciate the importance of a good nights rest and therefore all adult beds are equipped with pocket spring mattresses for your sleeping pleasure.Three of our cottages are fitted with free Wi-Fi. We do allow dogs on the farm should you stay in either River or Rose Cottage. Newly built swimming pool with magnificent views!

Riverside relaxation by

Hermitage Huisies - a private, peaceful retreat in a green valley known for its berry farms. We had River Cottage which is a bit away from other cottages. Great mountain views from the main bedroom, excellently equipped and with a great guide book(file). We loved the braai area outside with table and benches in lovely shade and a hedge around it for privacy. Horses nearby make for a picturesque setting as you watch young riders arrive in the morning to groom the horses. Things to do: We walked 100 metres through a style in the fence and got to the wonderful Wildebraam Berry Farm next door - AMAZING liqueur tasting of 12 great liqueurs for free. Also walked 2km into Swellendam for a fantastic meal of game and great wine at Koornlands Restaurant on the main road, then caught a R60 taxi back to Hermitage Huisies at night.

We loved the homely cottage and everything in it. It was perfect for our family of four adults. The view across the dam and fields of horses to the mountains was amazing.It was so quiet and relaxing we didn't want to go anywhere else. We enjoyed the walks and visits from Nadia's very friendly pets.

We stayed at the "aardvark burrow" a pretty house with view over the mountains and the pastures. Very quiet. Lovely swimmingpool and excellent wifi ! We just loved it !
