Grootwaterval is a lovely sheep farm situated in Central Karoo, 45 km from the charming village of Prince Albert, at the foot of the Swartberg Pass in South Africa. We offer a variety of accommodation options.
Experience the vastness and calm of the Karoo while enjoying the wide view over the veld, and be amazed at the wonders of a clear night's sky, listening to the birds and looking out for steenbuck and turtles.
Our guests are welcome to participate in our farm activities including tractor driving and working with the sheep and goats. We farm merino sheep which provide the famous fine-grade wool, shearing them every ten months. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, game viewing and stargazing.
You can stroll through the quiet streets of Prince Albert and look at the well-preserved houses dating back to the 19th Century with beautiful lush gardens. The tourist office is excellent if you need any assistance.
