Buffelsdrift, Rust de Winter is just 83 kilometres north east of Pretoria in the heart of the bushveld and is easily accessible from Johannesburg and Pretoria. The Elands River runs through this 430-hectare private game farm which is a paradise for bird and nature lovers. Stay at Buffelsdrift and spend the day fishing and boating at the nearby Rust de Winter Dam. The less energetic need go no further then the deck of their cottage in order to enjoy peace and quiet and relax to the soothing sounds of the bushveld. Self-catering accommodation is offered in three rustic, A-frame, thatched cottages. The Crocodile Lapa has two en-suite bedrooms and is set on the banks of the Elands River. Squirrel and Bushbuck Cottages have a single en-suite bedroom and a loft with 2 extra beds. All of the cottages are set amongst the trees, each in its own secluded spot where you can enjoy nature without intrusions.Solar lighting and gas for hot water and cooking is provided. A 10 kilometre hiking/mountain biking trail will take you around the farm with plenty of opportunities to view and photograph game, birds, butterflies, trees and nature.

stop over with our 5yr old grandson by

we enjoyed our stay in the SQUIRREL CHALET THAT HAS ITS OWN POOL which my grandson and i enjoyed very much. we also saw Giraffe and buck on our drive around the property but really need 4x4 to get right into the bush. the chalet has everything you need but if you want a TV there isnt one. we enjoyed that though as spent lots of fun with our grandson playing games, soccer, swing ball and of course swimming. up the road we went to MYSTIC MONKEYS AND FEATHERS WHICH WAS A FANTASTIC PLACE.
