Rooiberg Lodge offers guests the opportunity to kick back, relax and enjoy the unspoilt beauty of the Little Karoo, situated 350 km from Cape Town and 100 km from Oudtshoorn.

The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Little Karoo, nestled in the foothills of the Rooiberg Mountain Range, and extends over some 14 000 hectares of fynbos and succulent Karoo. Located in the Assegaay Nature Reserve between Ladismith and Calitzdorp just outside a quaint little village, VanWyksdorp. We have a variety of nature-based activities, including a leisurely 4x4 route through the reserve. The astonishing floral kingdom, together with an abundance of wildlife and bird life boasts the acceptance of the internationally recognized Gouritz Initiative conservation program.

Luxury chalets are situated close to the watering hole, where you can view buck and birds flocking to drink. Our chalets have air-conditioning and heating, a small kitchenette with coffee and tea bar and luxury linen. Relax on the veranda and experience the magnificent sunsets over the spectacular gorges and watering holes.

Rooiberg Lodge offer a great dining experience in our homely, thatched restaurant. Guests can sample traditional South African and Belgian cuisine and choose from excellent local wines. Wine and dine in our homely, thatched restaurant or out on the verandah overlooking the swimming pool and watering holes. Guests can sample traditional South African cuisine, and choose from an excellent selection of locally produced wines and ports from the Prince Albert, Calitzdorp, Beplaas and Rooiberg Wineries, famous for their award-winning collections.

Relaxing in our fully licensed bar provides guests with the opportunity to meet new and old friends, exchange stories, or simply enjoy the views of the spectacular mountain gorges.

Well what can I say. This place is a real gem. I was really surprised what my family and I found on a gravel road. Ronel and Monique was really the best hostesses I have seen in long time. The views is breath taking and the isolation. The rooms is of a high standard. The food is great!
