Hilltop Cottage

We have two cottages on Farraway Farm. Luxurious Hilltop Cottage, built on the top of a hill giving it an unsurpassed view extending tens of kilometers down the valley with the massive mountains in Lesotho in the background. Our second cottage, Shepherd's Cottage, is a one bedroom cottage which we completed in Sep 2018. Both cottages have verandas with braai areas. They also have wood burning fires (complementary firewood), so you will never be cold when everything outside is covered in snow! Hilltop Cottage and Shepherd's Cottage have Openview satellite TV. The cottages are about 400 m apart, so they are completely private. Both cottages are fenced and are pet friendly.
Farraway Farm is 90 ha, and neighbours Parks Board land which borders Lesotho. Over a km of the Mzimude River runs through the farm, and we have a dam. The circumference of the farm is about 5 km. You may see wild eland and reedbuck come down from Parks Board land to drink from our river. And, at night, you are likely to hear jackals howling.

Hilltop Cottage has two en-suite bedrooms and a large living area cottage is luxurious, quiet and very private. It has its own fenced garden that is about an acre, and is about 200 m from the main farm house.

We are completely off the grid, NO LOADSHEDDING!!!

All you need to bring is your food, camera and walking shoes. And some carrots if you want our horses to love you!
