This campsite is situated under indigenous trees on a farm just 4 km inland from the beautiful coastal village of Kenton-on-Sea in the Eastern Cape. Kenton has some of the loveliest beaches in South Africa and lies between two tidal rivers. The Sunshine Coast is a magical place for family holidays, offering swimming, fishing, boat cruises, canoeing, horse riding, hiking, kite surfing, bird watching and long lazy days on the beaches. Stanley's is only a 10 minute drive from several malaria free Game Reserves and less than an hour's drive from the Addo Elephant Park. The Royal Port Alfred Golf Club is 15 minute drive from the farm, or there are several art galleries and studios in the vicinity. The Campsite has a communal braai area and outside sinks for dishwashing. There are clean ablution facilities with hot water showers and toilets and the site is safe and peaceful. Although tent sites do not have electricity you are welcome to bring an extension cord and plug in to one of the electrical outlets in order to dry hair or charge a phone or battery. There is a popular restaurant on the site and swings, slide, a trampoline and a play house for younger children. We have a number of sleeping huts which can be hired if you prefer not to pitch a tent. Each hut has an electric light, fan and plug point.

Quiet and easy stay by

Stanley's is a lovely spot up on the hill above Kenton. The staff were wonderful and friendly and ended up upgrading us to a cabin from camping because there was one available. Accommodation is basic, but the views are terrific and the campground had everything we needed. The restaurant next door has great views of the river. Would recommend if you're self sufficient and just looking for a cheap place to crash, this is great value camping.

Clean and value for money by

Clean and extremely basic. Owners were not friendly or accommodating. There was no electricity and therefore no water on the last day of our stay, and owners were not there / did not communicate with us and did not make a plan for the grounds.
