Traveller's Joy is situated in Colesberg, halfway on route between Cape Town and Johannesburg, the perfect stop over for the tired tourist, is our grand old, yet modern guesthouse. This house was built in 1840 and restored in 2005. The thick walls, high ceilings and beautiful restored wooden floors, ensure a cool and pleasant atmosphere. Although this house is part of our National heritage, we have changed the inside of the house, that each room is en-suite, has its own separate outside entrance and patio, offering each guest with privacy.
Our rooms are spacious, all with tea and coffee facilities, fridge, air-conditioned, SABC and a DStv channel to choose from, luxuriously furnished with comfortable double and queen-size beds. We also have an ideal family unit consisting of two inter-leading rooms, one with three single beds and the other with a double bed en-suite bathroom. Our executive unit also called the Sun Room is a large spacious room with a queen size and a single bed, mini lounge suite, TV, Fridge, Microwave and air-conditioned. It also has a breakfast nook, limited cutlery and a sink area. We have safe and secure, off the street parking.
We are within walking distance of all the restaurants. Our guests enjoy this early evening stroll after a long and tiresome journey. Our guesthouse is named after a plant, by the name of Traveller's Joy, Clematis Brachiates that grows wild in our area, well known for its healing powers and soothing of tired muscles. This is exactly what we want our guests to experience, to have a pleasant stay and continue their journey well rested.
