Tholo-Beze Game Lodge is a beautiful, self-catering lodge in the heart of the bushveld. Surrounded by mountains you can view the majestic kudus drinking from the waterhole in front of the lodge.

Only 200 km from Johannesburg, the lodge boasts six bedrooms, five of which have en-suite bathrooms with a selection of double and twin beds. There is a fully fitted kitchen, a dining room, a lounge and a games area with a small pool table for guests' entertainment. The lounge leads out onto a covered patio overlooking the sparkling swimming pool and braai area. The garden gradually falls away to the plain below where you can view game.

Nature lovers can indulge in the abundant bird life, a large variety of extremely visible game, bush walks and game drives. The lodge also offers a unique Lion Experience for interested individuals. Tholo-Beze Game Lodge is ideal for family getaways or friends travelling together and can be rented out exclusively.

Travelled to this beautiful farm, had a wonderful stay.  My Hosts were very welcoming and felt at home.  My hosts were gracious enough to answer all my million questions on the rehabilitation and was included in helping distribute food.  I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and warm place.  Would definitely stay there again.

Our family of 15 stayed at the Tholo Beze game lodge at the beginning of May, and it was fabulous.

Paula and her family were most welcoming and friendly. Their service was impeccable, going out of their way to get us whatever we needed and making us feel comfortable. They took the time to speak to us and tell us about their lives, the area and, of course, the animals. This was no easy feat, what with our overly inquisitive kids.

The accommodations themselves feel slightly dated, and not exactly 5 star. But the beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the whole place was spacious and had everything we needed. It still has a more "rustic" feel to it, with it being dusty (due to the surrounding environment). and the showers are a bit temperamental.

Note that the pool is a small kiddie pool, though we couldn't make use of it due to unseasonably cold weather, and you do have to travel for about 12km on a dirt road to get there.

We would recommend this for any group looking to get away for a more secluded vacation on a budget.
