The Gate House

Our beautiful & newly built sunny self-catering home is suitable for small families and/or corporate bookings. With ample space inside and out to relax and unwind, this hidden gem is situated in a popular suburb of Cape Town (Hout Bay), on the side of the Valley that gets the sun all day.

There is lovely screed flooring and high ceilings (top floor) throughout that help keep the house cooler in the summer months. In the chillier months, there is a freestanding fireplace in the living room that does a fantastic job of heating the whole house.

Our home consists of two floors, with the kitchen/living room and toilet on the ground floor, as well as an outside covered stoep (raised veranda) for you to relax and enjoy the long evenings. With our stunning built-in braai (BBQ/Fire area), you also have the option of cooking outdoors or in.

The main bedroom (1st floor) has a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom. It's a large high ceilinged bedroom, accompanied with a featured wooden fan and lots of storage space in the built-in cupboards. Leading from the main bedroom there's a double door that takes you out onto a large private balcony, where you can watch the Sun set behind the stunning Cape Town Mountains.

The second bedroom (1st floor) with two 3/4-size beds is ideal for two kids or they can be pushed together if two couples decide on sharing the entire house space. Again, there are high ceilings with a featured wooden fan in this 2nd bedroom and lots of storage space. This bedroom also has its own bathroom, however it is adjacent and has its own separate entrance.

Leading off from the ground floor stoep, there is a leveled and compact enclosed pebbled garden. This very private area, and indeed all of the outdoor areas on the property, provides enough space for you to catch some late morning/all day sun, while also offering plenty of shade under the branches of the many trees scattered throughout.

The house has all the security features you need to feel safe and relaxed on your holiday. We are a five minute drive from all shops, markets and the many restaurants Hout Bay has to offer and we are close to both Hout Bay beach and the stunning Llandudno beach. Beautiful Chapman's Peak drive and the Constantia wine route are also on your doorstep. There is Wi-Fi (fibre 20mbps line).
